YOU ARE NOT ALONE

If you feel you have been disenfranchised by the Republican Party or are an independent or political moderate without a political home, you are not alone. We hope you will join with us in electing Kamala Harris.

Would you like to add your testimonial?

[I'm a] Lifelong Republican, the logic, courtesy and values have been abandoned. Trump [is] unfit for office. There is a a candidate who follows due process, negotiations, compromise, and SHE is running on the democratic ticket.

EJ

I have voted nearly all my life as an independent. In recent years I finally registered as a democratic. I like to call myself a republicrate, because I share views and values that reflect both parties. Now is not the time to stand behind a man for parties sake. But to stand behind the woman that reflects the values we ALL share and believe in. We need to vote for Kamala, like our democracy depends on it. Thank you and God bless the USA!

Carlos

I have been a registered Republican since I first voted in 1983. I believe in being in being fiscally responsible, the free market and the rule of law. The Trump led party stands for none of these principles. Harris will surround herself with strong team that will actually work to govern and unite the country.

Michael Wagner

We proudly supported every Republican candidate for President from Ronald Reagan to Mitt Romney. Then, the GOP set on a course that conflicted with our values. Donald Trump has spent his entire career promoting himself, bullying others and stoking fear. He has consistently eroded trust in our democratic institutions, undermined the rule of law and weakened America's international standing. Kamala Harris has spent her entire career enforcing our laws and solving problems. She consistently promotes the American ideals of fairness, optimism, respect and decency--ideals that are sorely needed in a divided nation and a world looking to America for leadership. The contrast between these two candidates couldn’t be greater and we are proud to support Kamala Harris for President.

Kelli & Bert Millett

I am tired of the hate. We need to heal as a nation to grow. We need to protect this out only planet.
We need to honor our military heroes.

Lori Wulf

Sometimes we find ourselves stuck in the middle with no place to call home. With regard to politics, it means we no longer align with our political families or they no longer align with us. Though it's normal to not agree on everything, it's not normal to disagree on everything.
It's been especially refreshing to be in the company of this fine group of individuals with a wide array of beliefs whose highest ideals are respect and decency. We in the middle have found a home in each other and in a common goal: to literally SAVE DEMOCRACY.
I can't think of a finer cause than preserving the dream of this ONE NATION, UNDER GOD, INDIVISIBLE, with LIBERTY and JUSTICE for ALL.

Susan J

As a former Republican and current Arizona Independent, my vote is for Kamala Harris, the best choice for President. Our nation has been poisoned by a cultist’s ongoing lies and empty promises. Let’s get back on track with someone we can trust.

I'm an Arizona independent who will support VP Harris with enthusiasm - because my older son is a disabled vet and my younger son an active-duty Marine, and my daughter is a smart, strong, and capable young woman of integrity and a commitment to serve. No young person who has offered his or her talents to the Republic as these 3 have should be disgraced by serving under a person for whom honesty, integrity, and the Rule of Law have no meaning.

We need to take back our democracy and move past the Donald Trump era!

Preston Smith

I’m a Veteran, I took an oath to “support and defend the Constitution” for 3:41 DJT did not uphold his oath to “preserve, protect and defend” the Constitution.

Al Coxe

As Kamala has stated we have a fleeting opportunity to change this country's trajectory for the future. Even if Republicans don't agree with everything the Democrats are proposing, what's most important is the integrity and the character of the president. This one election cycle has the potential to wipe out MAGA extremists. At the moment there is no one that has the following that Trump has to replace him. There is no way Trump can run again in 4 years as he will just be too old.

Debbie Blackwell

As a lifelong Republican, I cannot support for any elected office a 34-times convicted felon who wants to suspend the Constitution he has sworn to protect and defend.

Doug Ruckel

I've been a long-time Republican and believe in conservative values. From 2016 to this day I knew Trump for what and who he is...a self-centered, ego maniac. A narcissistic bully with a hunger for power and division. How can I support a bully who would discard and discredit me simply because I disagreed with a position or approach to policy? He's a bully. He's a divider. He tears down and never extends a hand to lift up. He is a danger to our democracy. He's tried to appear robust and bold, but he's nothing more than a cantankerous old man. When Biden turned the reigns over to Kamala Harris, Trump became old, slow and "so yesterday" overnight. Kamala has restored oxygen into what was once a stale, musty campaign. My observations tell my conscience that she is honest, caring, tough and firm when necessary, but always centered in compassion and justice. I believe she is the right person at this time in our history to assume the mantle of President of the United States.

Michael Christensen

I have been a Republican my entire life as were my parents and siblings. But this is not my dad's Republican Party any more. I am ashamed to call myself a Republican. The Party has bowed down to one man and has thrown out decency and respect, especially for the military. Last week was the final straw when Trump said the Medal of Freedom was much better than the Medal of Honor. That alone makes him unfit to serve as President. He cares only about himself and his money. It's a disgrace that the Party would align with someone like this. I choose country over party.

DCP

This independent voter would love to give a woman the chance to lead our country. I trust Kamala to be honest and to watch out for the underserved.

The amount of discrimination and disrespect for others has grown tremendously since Donald trump was elected. Jan 6th was a disgrace that our commander in chief would sit in the White House and not stop the carnage. The republican party should be ashamed that they let him take control and gave him the nomination for president.

M lemire

I have been a Republican for over 40 years. I cannot bring myself to support Trump. He only cares about himself. Out country cannot survive another 4 years with him in power. While I do not love her policies, Kamala is the only rational choice.

MCE

Retired from Army after 31 years. As an old tanker you take out the close threat first (Trump) and the far threat later (differences in policy). I have other vets that agree!

Scott Moore

Trump is our country’s primary threat. As Americans, we deserve much better than a felon and sex offender as our next president. VP Harris is a principled leader who loves our country.

Martin Tracey

The Republican Party is not the party I associated in 1969. Trump is a crook that should be in prison & not running for President. Kamala is an incredible Leader & doer that has my full respect! Go Kamala!

William Bennett

I’m a husband, father (of five children), and grandfather (of 13 g’kids!). My wife, Barbara, and I are committed Christians. We love Arizona, our adopted home for almost 30 years.

In November, we will proudly vote (again) for Kamala Harris. Although we were life-long Republicans, former President Trump drove us from the party in 2016. His inflammatory, racist rhetoric and his morally bankrupt personal and professional lives were repugnant to our values. He has also rallied Republican leaders who turn a blind eye to his malignant narcissism and the threat he openly poses to the future of democracy.

In 2020, we voted for President Biden and Vice-President Harris—the first time we cast votes for a Democrat candidate for president. We still vote for some Republicans in state and local elections, but we also vote for Democrats up and down ballot. Kamala offers hope for those weary of political cacophony and failed Trump policies. We look forward to her choice of running mate.

Brad Holm

As a lifelong Republican and former elected Legislator in Arizona, I am profoundly troubled by Donald Trump's perilous and extreme agenda. His proposals to dismantle the checks and balances of the presidency and his belief in granting the president absolute immunity for any crimes he commits do not align with the principles of the party of Law & Order, nor with the legacies of Goldwater, Reagan, and McCain. His demonstrated disregard for women’s reproductive rights and our autonomy over our own bodies is unacceptable.

Furthermore, his commitment to increase taxes on the middle class while providing handouts to billionaire donors and cutting Social Security and Medicare poses a significant threat to our state and nation. Arizonans; law-abiding Republicans, and independents are joining together to reject this dangerous direction.

I am also deeply concerned about his character. It is imperative that Arizona demonstrates its rejection of a convicted felon, a proven criminal, as the leader of the free world in 2024. Let us ensure that Arizona remains committed to these values. Join me in voting for a president who prioritizes the well-being of all Americans."

Honorable Robin Shaw,
Former Arizona State Legislator

The Republican party is no longer the same party I joined decades ago. It is filled with extreme ideology, hate and prejudice, and threatening to take us back in time, especially where women are concerned. I support Kamala Harris because she represents a way forward, she represents positivity, and fighting for what is right for ALL Americans. She represents equality, women's rights, working together towards a common goal, and most importantly, she defends and fights FOR democracy in this great land.

Why I am a Republican for Harris In the early 1970’s, another turbulent time in American history, I was State Vice Chair of College Republicans in Iowa. A friend of mine was State Vice Chair of Young Democrats. We went to each other’s political state conventions. Why? Because we both loved politics and understood its importance. We also understood that while we may not agree on policy, we both loved our Country as did everyone in politics. He went on to become a respected columnist and I went into business and local politics. I ran for office 8 times, won 4 lost 4. He had a better record with his columns. Everyone I knew in politics loved America. Some love America as it is, some love it as it was, others love it for what it could become. All of us love our Country, and were headed towards the same destination, an America that lived up to its promise. We didn’t agree on how to get there. It always seemed like a roadmap. You could go left, right or straight but everyone was going in the same direction.

I am an old Rockefeller Republican, fiscally moderate and socially liberal. Back then we argued policies and strategies but respected each other. Somewhere, and I blame it partly on the end of the fairness doctrine in 1987, hating the opponent became the norm. That spawned the rise of left and right talk radio. And, make no mistake about it, this was was not about politics but about advertising revenue. The more you could frighten and alarm your listeners the more they would watch and listen. Scaring them was a good way to get them to tune in and open their pocketbooks. The more they watched the more media companies could charge advertisers and the more they could pay their over-the-top personalities. With those moves to the extremes, those who didn’t agree with you were no longer ”wrong” they became “evil”. As with so much in life, if you follow the money, you usually find the answer.

My friends know that I no longer feel welcome in the Republican Party due to Trump and his MAGA Agenda. He lost in 2020 because many people like me voted against his style of leadership. It was not something I could, in good conscience, support. Donald Trump reminds me of the high school bully who never outgrew the name calling stage. But I, like all good Americans, abhor the attempt on former President’s life. Both parties have become too focused on calling their opponents enemies. The party’s extremes have become more like terrorists who believe the end justifies the means. This leads to violence being normalized. The far left and far right have way more in common that they would like to admit. Somewhere along the way political advertising quit talking about a candidate’s views and strong points and instead started focusing on why their opponent is evil.

We, the large majority of the population, who are in the middle need to reassert ourselves. As Buffalo Springfield so perfectly put it “There’s battle lines bein’ drawn. Nobody’s right if everybody’s wrong”. “A thousand people in the street singing songs and carryin’ signs. Mostly saying “hooray for our side”.

I proudly joined Republicans for Harris, not because I agree with all her agenda, but because she brings a saneness to politics that I do not see on the Republican side. It is very much needed right now. Politics has always been a pendulum swinging between differing points of view. Hopefully, this too shall pass and things swings back to the middle.

Dan Schweiker

I am a lifelong Republican. I firmly believe that Trump and his MAGA allies are trying to bring down our Democracy. They must be relegated to the dustbin of history, ASAP. LET'S TAKE OUR PARTY BACK!!!

BH

January 6th, the right for women to choose their on health care. All the lies, and rhetoric that Trump spouts out on a daily basis. The disrespect towards veterans, women, handicapped people, and him being a racist to many cultures.

RH

As a former [R] & now an active [I], I support Kamala Harris because she’s a woman of character, compassion & competence who is qualified to lead our great country. Again, this year, the decision is one of #CountryOverParty.🇺🇸

Susan Udall

Upright and educated. Kamala is the perfect alternative, even antidote, to the corrupt history and plans of the Republican candidate.

I am a conservative republican who supports Harris because I believe that what unites us as a country is stronger than what divides us. January 6th is a big wake up call to all who love the constitution and liberty. It can never happen again or be rewarded with power.
